About BevelUp
Practicing clinicians teaching practicing clinicians.
BevelUp is a clinician-led vascular access education company focused on helping healthcare professionals build safer, more consistent, and more reliable procedural skills.
Our programs are designed for nurses and other qualified clinicians who want more than a checklist or a brief demonstration. We combine current standards, evidence-informed instruction, clinical judgment, and deliberate hands-on practice to help learners understand not only how to perform a procedure, but how to make better decisions before, during, and after vascular access.
Why BevelUp Was Created
Vascular access is one of the most common procedures performed in healthcare, yet many clinicians receive limited formal education and inconsistent opportunities to practice.
BevelUp was created to close that gap.
We believe clinicians deserve structured education that connects anatomy, vessel assessment, device selection, infection prevention, insertion technique, complication prevention, and patient-centered decision-making.
Our goal is not simply to help clinicians obtain access. It is to help them assess more effectively, select more appropriately, insert more precisely, and preserve vessels whenever possible.
Experienced Clinical Educators
BevelUp courses are taught by practicing clinicians with substantial experience in vascular access, infusion therapy, procedural education, and bedside care.
Our instructors bring real-world clinical knowledge into the classroom. They understand the challenges learners face because they have managed difficult access, performed advanced procedures, supported clinical teams, and educated clinicians in actual healthcare environments.
Instructor qualifications may include:
Extensive vascular access and infusion therapy experience
Peripheral IV, ultrasound-guided IV, midline, and PICC expertise
Nursing and clinical education experience
Professional certification in vascular access or infusion nursing
Experience developing and implementing clinical education programs
Knowledge of current professional standards, guidelines, and evidence
Our Educational Philosophy
BevelUp training is built around three principles:
Assess
Successful vascular access begins before the needle touches the skin. Learners are taught to assess the patient, vascular anatomy, therapy requirements, device options, and potential risks before selecting an insertion plan.
Preserve
Vessel preservation requires intentional decisions. Our programs emphasize appropriate device selection, infection prevention, complication reduction, and the responsible use of available vascular access resources.
Access
Technical skill matters. Learners participate in instructor-guided demonstrations, simulation, and deliberate hands-on practice designed to strengthen procedural consistency, confidence, and clinical judgment.
We believe skill develops through repetition, feedback, reflection, and a clear understanding of why each step matters.
Evidence-Informed Training
Our courses incorporate current vascular access standards, professional guidance, and relevant clinical evidence.
Instruction may include principles from:
Infusion therapy standards of practice
Vessel health and preservation
Aseptic Non Touch Technique
Difficult intravenous access assessment
Ultrasound-guided vascular access
Appropriate device selection
Infection and complication prevention
Catheter stabilization and securement
Documentation and post-insertion assessment
Course content is reviewed and updated as standards, evidence, and clinical practices evolve.
Continuing Education
BevelUp LLC is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 18179, to award continuing-education contact hours for eligible programs.
Each course page identifies the number of contact hours available and the requirements for successful completion.
A course-completion certificate documents participation in the educational program. Employers, healthcare organizations, and state regulations may require additional supervised practice, competency validation, or authorization before a clinician performs a procedure independently.
Hands-On Clinical Programs
BevelUp currently provides education in:
Peripheral IV insertion
Ultrasound-guided peripheral IV insertion
PICC insertion
Difficult vascular access assessment
Vessel health and preservation
Vascular access decision-making
Customized organizational training
Programs combine focused instruction with practical application and simulation. Small-group formats help maximize hands-on participation and individualized instructor feedback.
BevelUp has trained dozens of clinicians through public courses, organizational programs, and hands-on vascular access education.
Training for Healthcare Organizations
In addition to public courses, BevelUp works with hospitals, nursing facilities, educational institutions, outpatient organizations, and other healthcare groups.
Organizational programs may be customized based on:
Clinician experience level
Organizational policies
Available equipment and supplies
Specific procedural needs
Competency-development goals
Patient population
Desired class size and format
Programs may be delivered at the organization’s facility or through an approved BevelUp training location.
Our team can also help organizations evaluate training needs, structure a clinical education pathway, and develop practical tools to support ongoing competency.
Sharp Skills. Better Outcomes.
BevelUp exists to help clinicians develop skills they can trust when the patient, the procedure, and the outcome matter.
